Support Tickets - Upgrade question

Thank you for opening a support ticket.

You can run the manual update from 1.5 straight to 2.1, this is how you should do it.

1. Download the latest version from our download area
2. Unpack the file and rename the upload/include/db.php.new into upload/include/db.php
3. Open the db.php file and enter all information (the same ones you had in 1.5)
4. Backup all folder and files from 1.5 plus backup your database
5. Remove the old folders and files from 1.5 from your server exepct (cache and files).
6. Upload the content from upload folder from 2.1 into the same location you had 1.5.
7. Open your browser and go to yourdomain.com/your_live_chat_folder/install/update.php
8. Update your live chat.
9. Delete the install folder from your server
10. Login and create a new embed code for your website copy and paste this code and you should be ready to go.

We know it is a bit a pain to update from 1.5 to 2.* but we have changed pretty much all files since then and that is the only way to do it proper. In the future you will be able to only run the Auto Updater in your operator panel.
